Osborne Funeral Directors
Osborne's was formed as a partnership by Mr. Cowan and Mr. Osborne. Their premises were somewhere in the old high street and they traded as upholsterers, cabinet makers and funeral directors.
Osborne's is now run by David Mitchell who's Grandfather was employed by Mr. Osborne in 1926 who was by then the sole partner of the business with a shop at 3 Cuthbert Street and workshop in Gasworks Lane.
After the War in 1947, Jock Mitchell bought the business and carried on in partnership with his son, Robert, until his retirement in 1966 when Robert became the sole partner. He retired in 2000 and his son David took over the running of of Osborne's.
