D.C. Poulton & Sons Funeral Directors
Description
The loss of a loved one is something we all face in our lives. It is a difficult time and we need to be able to rely on help and support from those around us. At D. C. Poulton we take care of all the practical matters surrounding a bereavement, giving you peace of mind and leaving you free to be with your family and friends. We arrange funerals that reflect and incorporate the wishes of the individual, family and friends.
D. C. Poulton & Sons was founded in 1888 as a builders and undertakers by David Charles Poulton. The business was based at 150 High Street, Epping and was one of the first shops to have electricity.
Over time the business grew steadily and became the first Funeral Directors in the area to have a motorised hearse, however, at the time because not everyone liked the idea or trusted the reliability of a motor the use of a horse drawn continued.
In the late 1990s Howard and Roger took a step back and today Howard, although semi-retired, continues to be active within the business conducting funerals as and when families request.
At D. C. Poulton we aim to provide a service based on our long established experience and traditional family values whilst understanding the changing wishes of today's community.
